Patel and Nehru , Then Foes, now BFF ??

I wonder why people's memory and history keeps changing.

It was known that Patel and Nehru didn't go well with each other, now it seems they were the BFFs ??

JLN as first PM  was a mistake Mahatma made. In 1946 , its written in history with records,  that 12 or more,  out of 15 PCCs  nominated Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel as the President of Congress and thus first PM of India. None of PCCs did nominate Nehru , clearly the majority was in favor of Sardar Patel.

This might have caused the neo-feudalistic Nehru , to hate  Patel who was from agrarian background, and the Feudal Arrogance of Nehru could not imagine himself  to be none other than the Supreme, he would have played dirty games even if Mahatma were to on the top seat.  He coerced Mahatma who too was unfair and wrong at least in this episode of the history, for asking Patel to withdraw the candidature. It was the first stab on democracy.

Dr Rajendra Prasad once noted  about this, that Mahatma had once again sacrificed his trusted lieutenant in favor of the ‘glamorous Nehru’.  Mahatma too was kind of selfish at some point, as he  always knew that  Patel would always obey him, and Nehru may not. What would happen to Mahatma if one of his lieutenant itself turned against him ? What would happened to the 'Mahatma' image ?  This question might have made him do that injustice to Patel also he feared that Nehru could split the congress if he was not given a chance to become the first PM,  which would cause British to delay the transfer of power, and he knew Patel wouldn't do that!

And a few more in the then "High-Command"  supported Nehru for wrong reasons, who regretted it later of' course!. Its interesting to read  Azad, Rajagopalachary as well, both sounded confessing when they wrote  “It was a mistake on my part that I did not support Sardar Patel.  I can never forgive myself when I think that if I had not committed these mistakes, perhaps the history of the last ten years would have been different.” and  “Undoubtedly it would have been better if Nehru had been asked to be the Foreign Minister and Patel made the Prime Minister" , It becomes more interesting after realizing that both were known foes of SVBP.

One thing for sure , If Mr Patel was the first PM , few of the problems would not have haunted our country for these many years -
Kashmir and China, Punjab insurgency, (Indira Gandhi , would have been just Indira Khan or Indira Feroz)
IPKF Debacle (if Patel was first PM, Rajiv would have been just another pilot in IAF or IA),
Telengana,  if Patel had his way to the full , the history of Andhra would have been different , it was the limited power he had that forced him to stop at just merging the Nizam's state to Indian Union. It was proven that he had a better understanding of HYD and Andhra who opted for the military option , compared to a UNO stand of Nehru.  (I wonder what it would have been now , if Nehru had his way of approaching UNO for HYD)
And the history, and the present state of the nation would have been different,  for better,,,  much better !!  .

Its funny to see the heirs of the Nehru's semi-monarchy Congress praising Patel,  who Nehru hated to the core,  due the fact that Patel was the first choice of  the people of India.
It may be as a thanks to the monarchy that Nehru's family enjoys today is the result of Patel's loyalty (sometimes its not good to be too loyal)  !!

ANTI-DEFECTION LAW - Is India a real democratic ??

ANTI-DEFECTION LAW - Is India a real democratic ??

I would say our system is a mockery at the idea of Democracy for the simple reason "ANTI-DEFECTION LAW"
Q. What is the problem with ANTI-DEFECTION LAW

A member of a House belonging to any political party shall be disqualified for being a member of the House-
(a) if he has voluntarily given up his membership of such political party; or
(b) if he votes or abstains from voting in such House contrary to any direction issued by the political party to which he belongs
or by any person or authority authorized by it in this behalf, without obtaining, in either case, the prior permission of such political party,
person or authority and such voting or abstention has not been condoned by such political party,
person or authority within fifteen days from the date of such voting or abstention.

For Example, A bill in parliament is not in the interest of a state, or a constituency.
The member/s representing that state or constituency cannot vote against it if the "party" they belongs to, decided to go with it .

Lets take the case of a railway budget, in most of the budgets the state of Kerala was neglected,
but none of the members of the ruling party could vote against it due to this law, though the budget is against the people whom they represent.
Are they mere representatives of a party or of the people who chose him/her, thinking (that the concept right??) that he would represent them. ??

What existence should a party have in the legislature system ??? It should have never been allowed.

For instance
My MP, Mr Suresh Kurup, belongs to the CPI(M) .
As a Representative Democracy, he should ideally represent my constituency and its people in Parliament,
and that his vote on any issue in Parliament should be in the interest of us.
But in our system , he cannot take a stand based on what is best for the constituency he represents.
He has to vote according to the party-lines. His vote in Parliament is decided by a few people who decided the party lines.
And it means that decisions are ultimately made by a few people were not elected by the people of our constituency.

What right/role does a party have in deciding the matters of our constituency ???
I voted for him not because he is CPI(M), but just because of his abilities and my trust in him, and I am sure there are many like me.

If this is what democracy means, give me a good reason why people should vote, where does it count ???
Assign a bunch of lunatics as party "high-command" and "polit-bureau" s and leave the country to them.

India is a country where life is just happening!!, its really a blessed country, otherwise it would haven been to ashes long before.

Jai Ho. !!!

McCain Vs Obama

I was watching the first United States presidential debate 2008, on this Friday evening. :)
(I have been working on all last three consecutive Saturdays and this was a much-needed weekend for me.)
Yet I sat down in front of TV to watch this, just because I think that this debate is one of those few, which might change the world we live in, and the world would listen to. McCain Vs Obama.

I am not a conservative, liberal, democrat, or republican; yeah its true that I was affectionate towards conservative ideology some time back in my life but now I truly believe in pure solutions for issues, rather than solutions adhering to some political dogmas.
There were so many thoughts, fears, and doubts that rushed thru my mind while I was watching it and I just wanted to "key them down"
(Pen is a thing of the past) here.

Why the "hell" world would listen to what these folks has to say? Because fate the world we live in depends on one of these guys.
After Nov 08, when one of these guys is going to in the most powerful position of human-being’s world, the decision they make would impact the course of our life, our survival, and even human genesis, and with all respects McCain doesn’t seemed to be fit for that.

He seemed to be interested in “WAR” on Iran, Russia, N Korea and amny more. May be the ‘POW’ wants to take revenge for his suffering on the entire world. He says he wont talk, and makes fun of Obama who said that he would like to resolve issues diplomatically. He was so obsessed with the word “Pre-Conditions”, and looked like a goon who wants to dictate others on muscle power. Does he still believe that any one can rule, or bring order to this world by force?? Does he think that those radicals would come to his desk with a “pre-condition” stating that they will do what ever he says? Conflict or WAR is not a solution for anything. It has been proved over and over again.

He seemed to think that surge in Iraq was a good decision. C’mon the whole world knows the truth, and he still want to stay in Iraq? He talks about sanctions on Iran, who made Iran so powerful, when Saddam was alive Iran never spoke a word!! He didn’t seem to be concerned about Taliban, Al-Quieda and the Bin-laden, who is still creating problems in Afghanistan and most parts of the world, hiding in Pakistan.
Please don’t give me that tactics and strategy stuff anymore, that sounds like a losers terminologies to me, I have heard those words in IT and Business a lot.
He says about “Winning in IRAQ ????”, and “Failed State in Pakistan when Gen. Mush coup’ed the legally elected government“ OMG!! Another series of false-intelligence-information.

He seemed so arrogant and offensive when he talked about Obama’s statements about diplomacy and dialogue.

He doesn’t looks interested in economy at all. Many country’s stock markets falls 3 to 4 digit figures when US markets loses one point.
The world economy is based on US$ and that very $ is in danger. McCain looks least bothered about that; he is more interested in another Cold-War era. He might have his own arguments for ignoring the collapsing economy, after all the “fundamentals of the economy are still strong”. Yeah it is very strong, we are still using cash, not yet downgraded to barter system, and strong enough that he can think about another war now.

He went on saying that he has got a long record of experience; I would say it’s a shame if he has not learned from those. I remember a T-Shirt print I saw in LA “Never Argue with idiots... They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.”

I not an Obama fan, but I definitely oppose and detest McCain now.

Ant and Grasshopper

From lot of email forwards, this one struck me. !!

An Old Story:
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and
laying up supplies for the winter. The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & plays the
summer away. Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or
shelter so he dies out in the cold.

Indian Version:
The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and
laying up supplies for the winter. The Grasshopper thinks the Ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the
summer away.
Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and
demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed
while others are cold and starving.
NDTV, BBC, CNN show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper
next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled
with food. The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor
Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Arundhati Roy stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's house.

Medha Patkar goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that
Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter .

Mayawati states this as `injustice' done on Minorities.

Amnesty International and Ban Ki Moon criticize the Indian Government for
not upholding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper.

The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the
Grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt
support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance) .

Opposition MPs stage a walkout. Left parties call for ' Bengal Bandh' in
West Bengal and Kerala demanding a Judicial Enquiry.

CPM in Kerala immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard
in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among Ants and
Grasshoppers.

Lalu Prasad allocates one free coach to Grasshoppers on all Indian Railway
Trains, aptly named as the 'Grasshopper Rath'.

Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the ' Prevention of Terrorism
Against Grasshoppers Act' [POTAGA], with effect from the beginning of the
winter.

Arjun Singh makes 'Special Reservation ' for Grasshoppers in Educational
Institutions & in Government Services.

The Ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and having nothing left
to pay his retroactive taxes,it's home is confiscated by the Government
and handed over to the Grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV.

Arundhati Roy calls it ' A Triumph of Justice'.

Lalu calls it 'Socialistic Justice '.

CPM calls it the ' Revolutionary Resurgence of the Downtrodden '

Ban ki Moon invites the Grasshopper to address the UN General Assembly.

Many years later....

The Ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multi-billion dollar
company in Silicon Valley,

100s of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere
in India ,

..AND
As a result of loosing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the
grasshoppers,
.
INDIA IS STILL A DEVELOPING COUNTRY !!!

Kerala School Text Book Revision

Our dear land , "doGs own country" Kerala (more aptly its political goons ) requires some other issues for their survival. They will keep making such issues, Does any one really think that just because of this chapter, all those who study will become "Godless". ??
No, not even those who are making havoc about this. But then why ?
Unless there is an issue, our dear political frauds wont be selling ,,
Its just like Pepsi/Coke coming up with new ad. The are in market, to keep that they need to keep ad'ing.
We don't have good roads, hospitals, health care, housing, jobs, anything considered good and required for quality living conditions for that matter, in Kerala. Instead of solving such major problems that are hazardous to human life, those geeks are staging a crap show ?
So I adopted, "Boycott Kerala Politics - Mentally, Physically, Socially, and Economically"
